The 2012 Olympics will bring packed stadiums

London organisers seem optimistic that they will not see a repeat of the 2008 Beijing games when the Olympics come to London in 2012 despite the global economic downturn.

Speaking yesterday, Sebastian Coe, chairman of the London 2012 Olympics organising committee explained “I don’t for one minute doubt we will have anything other than full stadia in this country,” Coe told Reuters. “People ‘get’ sport whether it is at corporate level or whether it is among ordinary families like myself.”

Around nine million tickets for the Olympics and Paralympics will go on sale in 2011. Ticketing policy and prices are yet to be finalised though with todays announcement that we are officially out of the grips of recession, the idea of a sell-out games doesn’t seem so unrealistic!
